Responsibilities
Proactively design, implement, secure, maintain Skyworks RHEL/CentOS global engineering design infrastructure to provide a 24x7x365 uptime service
Develop and oversee the backup, replication, clustering and fail over strategies
Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs at design centers in North America and Asia
Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
Fault finding, analysis of and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
Work with software support team to develop and implement solutions to improve design productivity and reduce simulation execution run time
Proactively monitor system performance and capacity planning
Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on Dell and HP servers and Netapp storage appliances
Create and modify scripts to automate Linux administration tasks for efficiency and consistency
Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment and future growth
Assist with defining and implementing Cloud computing strategies
Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop circuit design automation strategies and deployment processes


Qualifications and requirements
Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 5
years
o Hands on experiences and solid understanding of protocols such as DNS, NIS, NFS, SMB, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, SAN, FTP, PROCMAIL, LDAP and ISCSI
o Hands on experiences with VMWare deployment and management
Expert in Linux:
RedHat and CentOS.
o Hardware setup and troubleshooting, such as Kickstart over traditional PXE boot or YUM repository.
o Working experience with structured query language (SQL) and NFS automount.
o Packet sniffer for network troubleshooting, such as tcpdump
o Unix file system management and data protection
Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
o Writing, implementing, and maintaining efficient code to automate all routine works in the Linux environment.
o Attention to detail
Experience working on
o IBM LSF queuing application
o Writing and modifying automation scripts for simulation LSF jobs
o Circuit design tools, such as Cadence, Ansys, Keysight, etc
o GNU software build and install
o Web applications development
o Flexlm software license management and report.
o Setup and deploy a NIS Linux environment with DNS, NIS, FTP, SMTP services globally
o Implement NFS, SMB, and ISCSI services on Netapp filers
o Linux remote desktop access such as Exceed TurboX(ETX), EOD, and VNC
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Emphasis on providing quality solutions
The ability to learn new technologies quickly and strong analytical mind
