Your Responsibilities

As an Industrial Engineer for John Deere s Worldwide Parts Distribution Center located in Milan, IL, you will .

  • Design solutions to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity
  • Provide engineering support to continuous improvement teams
  • Execute special project activities such as process & equipment design, make vs buy, and cost/benefit analyses
  • Develop and maintain Operator Method Sheets (OMS) for the Current Method of Manufacturing (CMM)
  • Perform time studies, calculate standards, address questions and resolve issues raised from the warehouse

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of experience focused on shop floor manufacturing or distribution systems, incentive pay systems such as Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP) and work measurement (H)
  • Experience using teamwork skills in resolving problems, discussing issues, and communicating potential solutions and results to wage employees, engineering colleagues and management (H)
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support business operations as needed (H)
  • 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel and Pivot Tables (M)

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience innovating and implementing process improvements and equipment, focusing on improving business results in safety, quality and productivity (H)
  • Experience working with incentive pay systems, especially gainsharing programs such as CIPP (Continuous Improvement Pay Plan) (H)
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD for layouts (M)
  • Experience or knowledge with IT tools or programming languages such as QLIK, SQL and SAS (M)
  • Experience working with warehouse distribution systems (M)
  • Experience working in a union environment (M)
  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis tools (L)
  • Experience building business cases for capital expenditures (L)

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Information Technology
