Providence, one of the nation's largest healthcare providers with 51 acute care hospitals in seven states and annual revenues of $25 billion, is seeking an experienced and progressive leader with demonstrated leadership capacity as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Southern California.
The CFO has accountability for the successful performance of all regional financial operations and will partner closely with system shared services and support functions to achieve results.
This executive will work closely with the system Executive Vice President/CFO of Operations and Business Development ensuring that the connection of regional initiatives aligns to the overall system integrated strategic and financial plan.
The CFO also plays an integral role with the other regional CFOs to develop, lead and implement system financial initiatives and processes.

This executive will be actively involved in helping to shape the future strategy of the Southern California Region as the largest region in Providence.
The successful candidate will be an operationally focused, results-oriented finance executive with a substantive track record of leadership in a complex, highly matrixed environment.
They will bring both a strategic growth mindset as well as strong business acumen, and will collaborate with regional CFOs, the Regional Chief Executive and other key stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPositively support and incorporate the Mission and Core Values into daily activities of programs and services.

Provide leadership to ensure the achievement of the integrated and strategic financial plan goals/metrics.
Serve as a thought partner to the regional executive management team and develop and implement strategies and programs that enhance and maximize the financial performance of operations in the region and the system.
Exercise a lead role in the budgeting and long-range forecasting process consistent with the regional and system strategies and objectives.
Manage to appropriate financial benchmarks and reporting indicators to ensure that performance is at, or above, budget.
Provide strategic and operational leadership for all financial service activities for affiliates and joint ventures to ensure that budgets and initiatives are met.
Collaborative with system shared services and other system-provided functions such as supply chain, revenue cycle, and accounting.
Serve as a management liaison to various board committees and provide management support to the boards at the region, service area and local level as appropriate.
Develop accurate reports for the board of directors, senior management and other groups that analyze and report upon financial and operational performance, community benefit performance, etc.
Implement standards of procedures for financial planning and reporting for operations, consistent with system practices and objectives.
In collaboration with the region and service area finance team and system finance guidelines, administer strategies and goals for the integration and consolidation of financial, accounting and related functions for operations.
Identify opportunities for greater efficiencies and reduced expenses.
Partner with the regional and service area management teams regarding managed care contracting and payor contracting issues and work with the system contracting team to develop strategies to address and implement solutions.
Collaborate and engage with other regional CFOs across the system to share best practices, lead implementation of system initiatives in the region and provide leadership to ensure the overall finance role is understood in the organization and broader community.
Lead the development of a finance structure through finance operations and financial reporting mechanisms that support the continuum of care within the service line area consistent with system polices and standards.
Provide feedback to system and regional leaders on regional performance regarding organizational direction, results and compliance with regional and system standards and procedures.
Collaborate with the system business development team in the development and implementation or elimination of services and lines of business in regional operations consistent with the system's values and strategic objectives which includes appropriate merger, affiliation and partnership opportunities.
Facilitate the selection and development of a management team reporting to the CFO who are able to meet the region's goals and objectives and demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with the Providence mission.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in finance, business administration or accounting required.
Master's degree and/or CPA preferred.
Ten or more years of experience within a complex matrixed health system that spans the continuum of care with a track record of delivering strong, financial results in the acute and ambulatory settings.
Additional experience within physician groups, health plans and long-term care preferred.
Knowledge of California healthcare market is a plus.
Business development and transactional experience, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and related integration work.
Strong payor expertise with an understanding of reporting requirements for federal/commercial payor and knowledge of third-party contracting arrangements.
Knowledge of Medi-Cal is preferred.
Experience with value-based reimbursement models including those related to population health initiatives, risk-sharing and alternative payment arrangements.
Track record of successfully aligning and balancing local responsibilities with system priorities and regional strategic goals and directives.
Capacity to focus, influence and inspire teams in pursuit of short term and longer term goals inspired by the mission and values of the PSJH through the coalescing system, regional, and local needs.
Experience developing and managing diverse and effective teams to achieve results and building effective relationships with boards, management teams and operations leaders.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
