Biologist
In order be eligible for the position of Biologist, (GS-0401-11/12), you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of the announcement. BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
This position requires a degree or completion of specific courses to meet the basic education requirement. courses equivalent to a major as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Specialized experience is directly related to the position to be filled and has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and it is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. GS-11:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing scientific analyses and testing, interpreting findings, and preparing scientific reports documenting the performed analysis; -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; -OR- Combination of the required experience and education for this grade level. GS-12:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent at least to the GS-11 in the Federal service which includes performing scientific analyses, interpreting and evaluating the results of scientific analyses in order to determine the validity and scientific significance, and preparing scientific reports. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
Substitution of education for specialized experience will be made in accordance with the OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
