FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Status: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Irvine, CA
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM; subject to change based on project assignments/deadlines
Base Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience (up to $55,000.00 per year)
Travel: Up to 5% of the time in state; may include occasional out of state travel

HR Generalist Responsibilities
Westport Properties continues to grow rapidly and we are seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a strong background in a Human Resources functional role and proficient knowledge in Human Resources duties and areas of responsibility. The qualified candidate will have a proven successful track record in an HR Generalist role handling the day-to-day HR functions and responsibilities while maintaining excellent communication and reporting relationships with multiple departments, field management, and Company Personnel at all levels. A proactive self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude is a must in order to embrace the Collaborative Team Culture environment. This position requires excellent analytical and organizational skills to assist the HR Department and Company propel with upward momentum of growth and expansion on a national, multi-state level.
Key Essential Functions & Areas of Responsibility:
Benefit Administration
Claims (WC, LOA, EDD, Disability) Processing
Employee Relations & Investigations
Labor & employment law compliance
Recruitment & New Hire Onboarding
HRIS data entry & processing
Manage and Regularly updates HR e-file system for 300
employees
Coordinating Event Planning of Company-wide HR events (Holiday parties, Summer Picnics, Employee Quarterly Celebrations, Bowling, Townhall Meetings, etc.)
Familiarity and Proficiency in running Ad-Hoc Reports for HR/Payroll data analysis
Other Duties As Assigned
Front Desk Reception coverage as needed
Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company need and requirements
Qualifications Required
Minimum five (5) years progressive Human Resources experience, three (3) of which are in HR Generalist role
Proficient knowledge of current federal and California employment and labor laws and human resources practices including but not limited to EEOC, FMLA, CFRA, ERISA, COBRA, and FLSA. We also have employees in multi states, so multi-tasking among states is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook with advanced skills in Excel highly preferred to run ad-hoc reports for HR/Payroll data analysis
Proven track record experience in matters related to processing and managing LOAs, reporting workers' compensation claims, and tracking safety audits
Ability to understand and convey Company Human Resources Policies, and federal and state employment and labor laws (multi-state preferred)
Ability to handle all HR matters with confidentiality (i.e., employee relations, legal matters, workers' compensation issues, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate while exercising diplomacy, sound judgment and tact
Ability to deal effectively with co-workers, department supervisors and managers, insurance brokers, insurance company representatives, labor attorneys, and other consultants and/or vendors
Ability to work flexible hours depending on various HR project deadlines and Company events and sponsored programs including a few late evenings and a few weekend events per year

Education
Some college required
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in human resources management or industrial relations or equivalent from an accredited college or university
Relevant years of work experience and advanced Human Resources certification may substitute for the degree requirement
Human Resources certification preferred
