Broadcast Technician
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Broadcast Technician to support our Global Broadcast Team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated individual with outstanding communications abilities and a demonstrated interest in Broadcast.
Responsibilities
Assist in establishing best practices, workflows and documentation for Blizzard's global broadcast team
Provide support for all internal broadcasts
Provide support for external broadcasts on a workload basis
Manage external contractor relationships and drive best practices in working with external broadcast contractors
Support community streaming efforts, best practices and where possible hands-on
Assist on shows by
Creating and managing signal flows
Creating and managing wiring diagrams
Oversee or assist on overall broadcast engineering (show specific role as appropriate)
Operator encoders
Maintain all equipment and inventory
As needed, provide assistance with transmission coordination
Support events and broadcasts with technical knowledge and guidance
Monitor Blizzard's streaming events
Collaborate cross functionally to ensure we are engineering epic experiences always
Requirements

Years of Industry Experience working in broadcast production
A firm understanding of all aspects of broadcast production and technology
A firm understanding of consumer streaming workflows and technologies
Operational experience with video equipment: switchers, routers, playback, record, etc
Experience working with and operating audio equipment: consoles, playback, snake systems, comm
Basic understanding of web streaming workflows
Ability to work under pressure and learn new processes and tasks quickly
Excellent communicator in both verbal and written forms
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Passion for Blizzard games and the gaming industry
Pluses
Linux Experience
Basic knowledge of Encoding, specifically Cloud Encoding and on premise encoding
Visio Experience
AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks Experience
Love for Esports
Experience with multiple streaming platforms
Experience with Media Asset Management Systems
Bachelor's Degree
