Cash Applications Specialist
Cash Applications Specialist for durable medical goods company located in the Irvine CA area.
This is a Temporary to Hire opportunity, pay $14-16/hr, depending on experience. Full-time position, hours 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Business casual dress code. Company will complete background check prior to start.

Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, and analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from insurance carriers to
post appropriate payments, non-payments, adjustments, deductibles, copays, non-
covered and denial transactions to open patient claims.
- Accurately and efficiently enter EOB information provided from insurance carriers.
- Identify and resolve any incomplete information or un-postable EOB determinations
necessary to post remittance.
post items rejected by Automated Cash Post Application; identify patients not
traceable in the system; identify correct DOS if not traceable; de-archive claims as
needed.
- Investigate complex transactions and escalate issues to Supervisor as appropriate.
Research issues and take corrective action as appropriate; perform posting-reversals
as needed; correct misapplied payments.
- Balances and verifies that the applied transaction entries in the patient accounting
system reconcile to each EOB; generate a payment application report.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
High School graduate with 1 to 2 years of College education
Min 2 years experience in business or healthcare setting
Experience with health insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is preferred
A/R or Cash Applications experience is strongly desired
Intermediate MS Word and Excel skills; Ability to navigate through various computer programs
Strong critical thinking skills
Attention to detail - ability to maintain speed while upholding accuracy
Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically
Ability to perform analyses and discuss with Supervisor
Strong math / calculation skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
