1 Description CAREER Overview:
The server engineer will work closely with Developers, Testers and DevOps Engineers through the development lifecycle with focus on builds and deployments of various software and data.
The server engineer should have experience with building and releasing software as well as supporting integrations.
The engineer will be asked to work efficiently and be willing to innovate on what already exists.
Leverage experience with large application deployments and applying critical thinking, system administration and troubleshooting skills in a high paced iterative workplace to accomplish the task at hand and emerge victorious.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Responsible for daily operational and development support to the divisions Server Platform, Development and Test teams.
Administer Linux servers and developer workstations, including creation of Python tools and shell scripts to determine system health and automate admin tasks.
Perform routine database administration (parameter tuning, schema updates).
Work with other UNIX team members to improve existing system, fine tune system performance, and increase overall data throughput.
Design, implement and maintain complex IT systems, including network, server and database interaction in conjunction with members of the Server Platform, Customer Delivery, and Operations teams.
Perform Build Master and some SCM duties including creating labels and branches within SCM.

5 Years Experience writing scripts for sysadmin tasks using python/perl/shell 3:
5 Years Experience with SQL :

Postgres/Oracle/MySQL 3:
5 Years Experience with Linux compiler tool change:
make and gcc 1:
2 Years Experience with source control tools and best practices.
Specifically Perforce.
2 Years Experience with RPM and Yum Familiarity managing large highly complex software applications Strong experience with network and application protocols such as TCP/IP, ICMP, DNS, XML, HTTP Knowledge of system and applications including:
DNS, Apache, Syslog:
NG, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong collaborative skills Self:
managed, proactive work style.
Able to work well independently and in a team environment Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline preferred Source:
