Examples of Duties ABOUT THE POSITION Under general direction, the Jury Services Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Jury Services Unit across four Justice Centers.
The position oversees court juror activities and supports the annual Grand Jury recruitment.
The Jury Services Unit summonses over 750,000 prospective jurors every year, with an average of 125,000 jurors reporting for duty, and answers over 10,000 incoming calls per month.
The Jury Services Manager oversees the Jury Services staff, Grand Jury administrative staff and provides cost center management oversight of multiple budgets.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, organizational, public speaking, and exceptional customer service skills.
The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to continue the exciting and innovative work of the unit which has included the implementation of mobile check-in for jurors and the use of data dashboards for workload analysis and statistical reporting.
The Jury Services Manager reports to a Court Operations Manager.
Duties for the classification may include, but are not limited to:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the Jury Services Unit and the Grand Jury administrative staff.
Works closely with judicial officers, peers, supervisors, and lower-level staff to carry out the court's goal to administer an effective jury program and provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Attends meetings, reviews statutes, legislation, reviews and distribute policies, manuals, or other documents.
Performs site visits at all justice centers; assists in preparing quarterly summons allocations; yearly state-wide statistical reporting and supports yearly Grand Jury recruitment activities.
Assist with technology projects that pertain to jury operations.
Completes operational requirements by selecting, orienting, training, scheduling, and assigning employees through supervisors.
Establishes and maintains standards and desk procedures to ensure legal compliance and to support the Bench, the public, and justice partners.
Measures results against standards and makes necessary adjustments or corrective action.
Sets goals and objectives for staff that enhance services and efficiency.
Leads and motivates assigned unit to ensure operational needs are met by demonstrating strong leadership, developing staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership with managers throughout the Court to ensure operational goals are met.
Demonstrates organizational awareness by understanding how political, organizational, and technological systems work and operate effectively.
Promotes Court policies, procedures, rules, and applicable laws while moving easily and effectively between the role of supporting judicial officers and following administrative standards.
Works closely with judges and provides support with high-level and sensitive issues.
Demonstrates leadership and ethics by influencing positive change and mentoring staff to support the goals and objectives of the Bench and executive management.
Sets high yet achievable standards and expectations for self and staff, while addressing performance issues effectively.
Demonstrates behavior that sets an example for staff in terms of the Code of Ethics, sound business practices, and court/division strategic plans.
Displays excellent discretion and judgment in interactions and decisions; designs short- and long-term plans for the work unit; encourages and facilitates cooperation within the Court and the public.

DEPUTY COURT OPERATIONS MANAGER Minimum Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
-AND- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (one of the experience requirements must be met):
Two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) court management experience -OR- Three (3) years of full-time (or equivalent) court supervisory experience -OR- Three (3) years of full-time (or equivalent) non-court management experience in a closely related legal environment such as District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation Department, or large law firm -OR- Two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) analyst experience while supervising staff or a team in a closely related legal environment such as District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation Department, or large law firm -OR- Four (4) years of full-time (or equivalent) non-court supervisory experience, in a closely related legal environment such as District Attorney, Public Defender, Probation Department or large law firm.
DESIRED EDUCATION:
Desired qualification is graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, criminal justice, behavioral science, or closely related field; Certification from the Institute for Court Management's Court Management Program (CMP); Judicial Administration Program; or Completion of the Court Executive Development Program (CEDP).

One (1) year of budget management experience with direct oversight of one or more specific cost center budgets (e.

Experience working in jury service environment.
