We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team.
Please note that certified payroll experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
As the HR/Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for various aspects of payroll administration, ensuring accurate processing and recording of our company's payroll.
Additionally, you will participate in daily data entry payroll processing and act as a resource for all employees regarding compensation administration.
An important aspect of this role involves handling tasks related to the compliance of Certified Payroll Reports.
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in all aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, performance evaluations, disciplinary guidance and terminations, healthcare benefits administration, 401K administration, employee benefit programs, employee handbook maintenance, policies and procedural upkeep, and documentation in accordance with California and Federal law.
This position will collaborate closely with the ownership and management team to create and maintain a positive and efficient workplace.
KEY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Weekly payroll processing for 100
employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all payroll transactions.
Overseeing the collection and maintenance of all timesheet data and payroll information.
Maintain personnel files and payroll records, including employee information, time and attendance data, and tax withholding details.
Update changes to salary, compensation, deductions, bonuses, PTO and benefits.
Collaborate with benefits providers and insurance brokers to resolve any issues and ensure smooth administration of benefits.
Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate and timely communication with employees.
Respond to HR and payroll-related inquiries.
Assists employees with accessing their record/profile on web-based systems to include payroll.
Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.
Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports in compliance with contracts.
Process applications and new hire forms including I-9 forms.
Ability to evaluate, interpret, and implement policies and procedures relevant to payroll and employment, for all employees.
Follow compliance and company regulations when working with sensitive and confidential information.
Development and implementation of California required employee training and certification.
Maintain associated training records; ensure employees receive refresher training when required.
Communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations to ownership and management as needed.
Assist in Injury and Illness Prevention Program, WC claims and WC audits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, accounting, finance or related field.
(Preferred) 3-5 years of experience as a Payroll and Benefits Specialist or a similar role.
(Required) 3-5 years of Certified Payroll Experience.
(Required) Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with management and employees.
Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
Experience in the construction industry - a plus Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate calculations and data integrity.
Easily adaptable and familiarity with payroll software systems and timekeeping systems.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred) HR Certification (Preferred) Job Type:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
