Summary:
This is an on-site management role with direct supervision of the Network Operations Center (NOC) team.
Enterprise or service provider level experience is necessary.
Competency across all major functions of the datacenter is expected.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Ensure effective operation of the NOC including staffing to provide 24-hour support coverage for internal and customer systems Hire, develop, and retain highly responsive and customer focused technicians Enforce compliance with internal policies and procedures and ensure customer service level agreements are met Manage tools, systems, and procedures to ensure effective function of the NOC Carry out supervision and delivery of projects by the NOC Act as the point of contact for the NOC for all inquiries from senior leadership and other managers Participates in audits, reviews, and inventories of systems and resources.
Along with the management team, help to refine and enforce security and quality standards Provide direction, training, and feedback to assigned staff Manage and provide, as needed, hands-on technical support work related to the overall health and maintenance of the organization's multiple environments.
Perform tier-2 and 3 escalation support when needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a network operations center or service desk environment Understanding of data center operations Strong work ethic and communication skills both spoken & written Strong troubleshooting skills in different OSI network layers (esp.
layer 2 & layer 3) Understanding of network connection types (fiber and ethernet) Understanding of datacenter power delivery types (single vs.
3 phase power distribution) Work well with a team, but be able to work alone without supervision Ability to work after normal business hours as needed Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous tasks Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in a relevant field of study Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT Systems Administration experience Must have experience with Linux operating systems Must have experience with Microsoft Windows Server Must have experience with Server Virtualization like VMWare or Hyper V Languages:
Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee may occasionally need to run and dress network or power cables Job Type:
