Irvine, CA Purpose of Position:
The person hired for the position of Maintenance Technician will act as a Maintenance Mechanic III with additional duties and expertise in lean manufacturing and energy/sustainability projects.
The person hired will lead continuous improvement efforts with the plant engineering team to reduce waste and improve efficiency in all areas of the plant.
The primary accountabilities of the role include attaining high equipment reliability and uptime, safety compliance, equipment maintenance procedures, data collection, housekeeping, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
Key
Responsibilities:
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant operations equipment.
Lead and participate in complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problem-solving efforts and support failure investigations using problem solving tools.
Provide expertise in lean initiatives including TPM and SMED, act as subject matter expert, lead and participate in Kaizen initiatives as needed.
Act as Energy Champion for site, including leading energy/sustainability projects to pursue energy efficiency and waste reduction.
Includes entry of project data results in relevant databases.
Lead all Maintenance Training efforts to include:
New hire training and familiarization, Electrical-Mechanical troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting training.
Provide expertise for the facility, getting involved at early stages of all capital equipment projects to provide plant engineering point of view and communicate plant facility requirements.
Assist with planning and scheduling maintenance activities and resources.
Works with Maintenance team to establish, review, improve and execute plant maintenance system standards.
Complete training to qualify as an Avon Designated Representative.
Act in this capacity for site as needed.
Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance (PM) processes, tasks, and frequency of existing and new equipment, critical and spare parts lists.
Assist with internal, ISO 9001, and other governmental audits.
Minimum Required
Qualifications:
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher.
Typically requires 10
years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent demonstrated competency.
Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic technology Ability to work weekends, overtime, holidays as needed, short notice shift coverage.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Preferred/Desired Skills and/or Experiences:
Able to work in a team environment and show flexibility with job role.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal.
Ability to read complex schematics, electrical and electronic drawings.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC ladder logic, and CNC equipment.
Competent in all Maintenance Mechanic II tasks/requirements Experience with various types of welding Experience working with Molding Compression, Autoclaves, Ovens, Thermo Oxidizer, and Material Cutting Machines Ability to troubleshoot Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Experience operating power industrial equipment Willingness to learn lead responsibilities/tasks as assigned by management.
Strong competencies in electrical and mechanical technology Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Kaizen Basic computer knowledge, demonstrated use of SAP.
Bachelor's degree or Trade school would be a plus.
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in IRVINE, CA s $43.
06 to $46.
32 hourly.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
