Job Designation The Payroll Lead provides expertise in the day-to-day processing of the payroll within the business unit and providing a responsive Payroll service to customers both internally and externally by adhering to defined service level agreements and statutory requirements. Ensures accurate processing and recording of the business payroll, while aligning activities with the team's goals and objectives. Job Core Responsibilities o Reviews and analyzes current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations and promoting continual focus on exceeding customer expectations o Work closely with Sr. Management to:
o Evaluate current systems and ensure the payroll system is configured to meet business needs and statutory requirements o Develop the payroll system and operating efficiency improvements o Assist as required with system testing/upgrade requirements o Resolves complex payroll-related matters, including expatriate employees, various types of stock option exercises, deferred compensation plans, 401(k) related matters, and non-cash compensation reporting o Prepares documents and disburses payroll checks, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments o Monitors and ensures proper documentation of employee benefit payments o Prepares reports illustrating payroll expenditures, including such items as tax payments and benefit plan disbursements o Analyzes and interprets union contract(s) and company's policy and procedures to determine the proper rules regarding salary and escalates issues as needed o Provides assistance in interpreting and administering company payment policies, answers questions, provides guidance to employees on earnings and deduction matters o Other responsibilities as assigned Job Specifications Education Level:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Field of Study/Area of
Experience:
Business or Finance, Certified Payroll Professional, shared services environment 5 years of experience in global organization, directing payroll function Skills, Knowledge and Abilities o Excellent customer service orientation o Skill in supervising to include team building, delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance o Ability to develop, manage, and execute payroll strategies for the efficient day-to-day operation of payroll o Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information/situations o Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience o Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations o Financial Acumen o Recognizes and values lean process and tools o Excellent project management skills, well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task o Capable of directing the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems, while applying advanced analytical thought and judgment o Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques o Mergers and acquisition skills o Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state tax codes
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
