Attorney The candidate will work closely with Legal Director. Will provide business-savvy advice and counsel regarding franchise and employment practices. Provide actionable employment law advice in all areas with emphasis in wage-and-hour, equal opportunity, leaves of absence, and discrimination/harassment. Partner with HR to guide investigations of alleged employee misconduct. Lead a team who responds to administrative charges, including drafting position statements and managing outside counsel. Draft and negotiate license and franchise-related agreements. Head the squad responsible for drafting the Federal franchise disclosure documents and state and federal disclosure documents. Proactively manage licensee and franchisee compliance with contractual obligations, including drafting demand, default and termination notices.
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree. Member in good standing of a State Bar, with strong preference for admission to the California State Bar is needed. 4-6 years of corporate law experience or relevant in-house experience is required. Preferred functional experience includes employment litigation and counseling, franchising, and contract drafting. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to lead projects from inception to completion is needed. Ability to lead a team immediately, eventually assume a higher leadership role in the company or another Yum! Brands, Inc., Law Department reporting directly to a Brand General Counsel and one day assume a Brand General Counsel role is required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
